Day 27

Today Sam made a new friend.. 'Mr Egg' (or 'Sam' as he sometimes called him)... he spent the morning taking Mr Egg for rides on the bike, putting him in bed and tucking him in, kissing him and walking around holding him gently. Unfortunately, by the end of the morning Mr Egg had a bit of an accident and had to go 'on holiday' to get fixed up. There were tears from Sam who said farewell to his little friend, with the promise that he will come back soon for another play :)

Even though it looks like Sam is about to eat his new friend... he is actually giving him a big kiss :) 

Day 26

We had noodles for lunch today.... Sam liked them :)

Day 25

Today Lewy and his friend Sonny (who also happens to be Val's husband :) went to Barbagallo Raceway to watch Mark Webber in his Red Bull Formula 1 car (along with other 'car' stuff!). I put Sonny in charge of taking the 'Photo of the Day' and he did well! The boys had a good time apart from the HOT weather. It was a scorcher of a day ... so they did well to last as long as they did without any shade!

Day 24

I spent today shopping with my mother-in-law Sharon to find a dress for the wedding next weekend. Found a gorgeous dress to wear with my favourite shoes :)

Day 23

Yesterday was the kind of day where I had so much to do but something would come up every time I tried to start a job ... so instead of fighting it, I put my 'To Do' List aside and spent the day going with the flow.

Once the boys were in bed, I had some wine and read my book..can't think of a better way to end the day!

This is the conversation Lewy had with his boss at work today:

Lewy - "I've got a bit of a problem"

Boss - "What's that?"

Lewy - "I've got Monday off next week...."

Boss - "You do?"

Lewy - "Yes and the problem is that I forgot to ask you"

I told Lewy I was going to write this in my blog and he said "I'm not going to have to get my photo taken when I get home am I?".... :) 

While I'm telling little stories... here is one about Sam:

Sam was playing in his paddling pool, and out of the blue, stops what he is doing.. comes up to me, puts his hands on my face and says so seriously:

"Are you a dentist, Mummy?"

Day 22

It's been a busy day today! I work from home for the company I was at pre-kids, and I've recently taken on another job ... at Lewys work! It will mostly be work from home, but I've accepted some extra hours per week to work in the office as well :)  So my parents kindly watched the boys for me while I went to work. It was pretty cool as I was able to see Lewy when he popped into the office between jobs :)
Sam and Nanna share a very special bond over their love of Christmas and decorating etc, so it's all Sam talks about when he sees his Nan :)

Couldn't help but post this video of Sam and Jacob.... it was so cute, they played like this for ages on the mat... I love seeing my boys together :)

Day 21

I didn't know what to put as my photo today, as I haven't done anything overly exciting! Just a day at home, cleaning, cooking, playing with the boys.. the usual!
I did however do a frantic tidy before the boys went down for a nap, so I could sit down on the couch, have a coffee and read! This doesn't happen very often, so a real treat when I finally get to do it.
This is the book I'm reading... and I am loving it.
A little secret about me that not many people know - is that I want to be a missionary. A life on the mission field with my family...my heart feels like it will burst just thinking about it. For now though, I am exactly where I am meant to be and like my Dad said to me to the other day "You are already doing the most important missionary work right now.. at home". :) So for now, my heart will have to wait and see where  me and my family are led in the future :)

Day 20

I love looking at the sky......it reminds me of my purpose in life and puts things into perspective. I took this picture, standing at my front door :)

Day 19

I couldn't choose between these 2 pics for today... so you get to see both of them.

I love cooking.. one of my favourite meals is this Pumpkin and Feta Pie, it's easy to make and so yummy!

This picture isn't very good, but I had one shot to take it as Lewy and Sam were standing next to me saying how hungry they were and could I please hurry up so they could eat!!!!!

Today Sam decided to take Lewys beer box and fill it with any bottle he could find... and then sat on the couch and took a drink from each one. I'm still not sure if I think this is cute... or if it's something to be concerned about!!!

Day 18

Another day of ignoring the 1 photo rule! This morning we went to the beach up at Hillarys... it was a bit overcast at times (even had some rain) so hardly anyone around which was perfect! Sam LOVED the water.. couldn't get him out! Jacob felt the sea for the first time... he couldn't stop staring at his feet :) .. but took the whole outing in his usual relaxed chilled out style :)
After the beach we headed over to get ice-cream at the harbour.
Now we are home and all the boys of the household are having a nap, before we head out this afternoon for a BBQ with some great friends, so a fantastic day overall :)

Day 17

Last night our boys had a sleep over at their Aunty Pam's house, while Lewy went to his brothers Bucks night and I went to my soon-to-be Sister In Laws Hens night.

The Hens night theme was Bogan Bingo (don't ask...) ....so here I am, holding my non-winning Bingo card - which in actual fact I was more than happy not to win as there was NO WAY I was getting up to do a 'rock off' in the form of an air guitar competition!!!!

Day 16

And I thought yesterday was hot!!! Today was another one of those days to stay inside, close the blinds, turn off the lights and try to stay COOL! We made this very simple cubby house first thing in the morning to make our day inside more fun :) We have spent most of the day so far in the cubby, reading books,Sam playing dress ups, (me almost falling asleep and Sam tucking me in and 'shhh shhh'ing me and rubbing my arm to help me go to sleep (cute!), having lunch, drinks, playing with the lego and the bean bag also ended up in here to sit on while we watched some cartoons. The boys are fast asleep now in their rooms for their afternoon nap, it's hard work playing in this heat! Now time for me to get some work done!!

Batman top and my green dress are a perfect match... if you look closely you can see Sam is about to finish off the outfit with my blue nightgown belt...what a stylist!

Day 15

It was so hot today.... definitely a day for staying cool indoors. While Jacob and Sam napped, I set up the race track to surprise Sam with when he woke up. Jacob seemed quite happy to watch the car going around and around too :) Nice way to spend the afternoon!

Day 14

It's a real treat when I get to catch up with a friend, when the kids are in bed and we can sit back with a hot chocolate and TALK! Had a fantastic catch up with my gorgeous friend Val tonight at Dome. The only problem is that there never seems to be enough hours for our catch ups, as we can talk the night away if we had the chance! The staff had to kindly ask us to leave as they wanted to go home... that's the sign of a good night!

Day 13

I decided to take my boys to the river near Lilac Hill in Guildford today for an early lunch. What a beautiful morning!!! It was so nice just spending time together, enjoying the fresh air and having a little picnic for lunch. I'll definitely be doing this more often. To top it off, I bought my tripod and camera along and managed to get some lovely HDR pictures and also some pics of the 3 of us while I was at it :) We look relaxed in the pic, but in actual fact it was a mad rush to get us all organised before the timer went off! Sam thought it was hilarious!

Day 12

My day today has involved cleaning, washing, cleaning, washing and more cleaning... so obviously that doesn't provide much inspiration for a good photo!


My inspiration came when Lewy walked through the door ... One of my most favourite parts of the day is when Lewy gets home from work. I love his company, he's my best friend, he makes me laugh, he helps me to keep life in perspective when I get overwhelmed and I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful husband. :)

Day 9 - HDR Photos

I'm going to completely ignore the one photo rule today! Had a wonderful afternoon at Whiteman Park, we took our lunch, the camera and Sam's bike with us so he could get rid of some excess energy, while Jacob spent the entire outing doing what he does best - sleeping! I spent majority of the time taking a heap of pictures to process in HDR.. and had a ball! It's not often I get to focus on my HDR passion, so when I get the chance I have to make the most of it! Here are some of my favourites:

Day 8

My original plan for Day 8 was to take a photo of my gorgeous best friend Val, and her 2 lovely children who I went to visit this morning, but as I forgot to take a picture, I drew a blank as to what else to put up for today!

So, I took a picture of 3 of my favourite things - 1. My Bible 2. My camera and 3. Coffee!
Combining 1 & 3 is a perfect time out for me and I wish I could do it more often... and 2. I'm just an amateur but I love practising.. My real passion is HDR photography, but unfortunately the Nikon D60 doesn't have auto-bracketing which makes it a bit more difficult to achieve the pictures I need....On my wish list, is another camera with auto-bracketing so I don't have to cart the tripod around as well as juggling 2 kiddies! One day this month, my goal is to take a great HDR picture to show on my blog. If you don't see one by the time the month is out - it means the photos weren't good enough!

Day 7

Went to Dome for brekky this morning. Sam made friends with the kids at the table next to us, and the 3 of them spent the time following each other around in a line..adorable!

P.S My muesli and fruit salad was YUM!

Day 6

This is the view from our house to the end of the street.  Pretty simple photo (and by the look on Lewy's face when I told him this was Day 6, obviously it's not a very exciting photo!!!) but every time I turn onto our street to come home, I love seeing the tall trees behind the houses.  It always reminds me, that one day I would love to move to the country or at least a little bit further out of the city to have more space and more trees surrounding our house.. rather than just other houses! One day......

Day 5

Okay, so I'm bending the rules again and posting 2 pics for today.
Lewy took an RDO so we decided to make the most of it and take a drive up to Mundaring Weir. Had a lovely time walking around and enjoying the views.

Afterwards, we stopped into the Hotel for lunch. Gorgeous spot...lunch outside, glass of wine, BIG plate of food (I forgot how much they pile up your plate at Pubs!!), birds everywhere..it was a  really relaxing time.

Day 4

What a day! Lewy, his Dad Alan and I = early morning start, lots of paint, ladders, hard work, hot dogs for lunch and finally we are almost finished the patio! Only one more coat of paint to go on certain areas but sheets all up and it looks fantastic!

Day 3

It's going to be VERY hard to just pick 1 photo per day!

This morning me, Sam, Jacob, and my mother-in-law Sharon went shopping. Shopping with kids is very interesting! We lost Sam for a few seconds (felt like hours) as he was busy playing with the mannequins in the next shop, then he set the alarm off in the lift and spent majority of the time running around with no shoes on, on a sugar high from the juice he had at morning tea... life is never dull with a toddler!

In this pic, Sam was very confused about why the mannequin had no hands (also notice he is holding his new spiderman underpants "big boy pants", a present from Nanna :)

Day 2

We are currently re-doing our patio area.. all the sheets have been stripped off and we've begun painting it cream. Sam and I spent the morning outside clearing the old sheets away, tidying up and wiping down the beams ready for Lewy to finish the painting and then install new sheets over the weekend. Sam is a very good helper, while Jacob sat in his bouncy chair and supervised the work :)

Day 1 (4th November)

Sam and I spent a whole 1.5 hours sitting at the kitchen bench in the morning playing with the Playdough. I don't know who had more fun... me or Sam!!! This is Sam's caterpillar.
