Day 130 - Lots of photos!

My parents had an appointment this morning... so the boys and I headed to the beach. We stayed for a long time... sitting on the sand, wandering up and down the beach, building sandcastles, looking at the seaweed and other cool things that have swept in from the sea and playing in the dunes.

I love this picture...

Investigating....

Enjoying the view....

Jacob finding out that sand doesn't feel so great in your mouth...

That's my boy!

In the afternoon, we all headed to the park.

Jacob and Sam love their Pop.....

Mum and Dad....

It's been such a big day, that there are more photos than words in today's post... feeling tired but very happy after a fun day. The boys were so tired that they were both fast asleep by 5.30pm.

Back to reality tomorrow! x

Day 129

I love coming to Mandurah... I'm sure I've said that before :) There is nothing like spending time with your parents. Today has been BUSY. We've managed to fit in a whole heap of stuff - eyebrow wax for me (way overdue!), winter clothes shopping for my boys (oh so cute!), other necessary appointments, more shopping, lunch with a family friend and a whole lot of other bits and pieces in between.

---------------------------

We went to my mum's friend Lynne's house this afternoon... this is the view from her balcony. Stunning!

Sam had a ball here... Lynne has a granddaughter, so has lots of toys in the house and Sam made himself quite at home carrying dolly around in the baby carrier.

Checking out the view from the lounge room...

Goodnight, little baby, close your eyes....(or else I'll poke your eyes until you close them...)

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie...

Mum and I :)

Now the 'boy' side comes out. The baby carrier is in fact... a fireman's hat!

---------------------------

One of the first tasks to do for my photography course, was to create a 'test' album, and post up some photos of our work. Basically, to get used to the forum as well as letting others in the class see some stuff we have previously done. So of course, when someone gives me a task like this...I darn well do it, on time and to the best of my ability.

So here I am, with my newly uploaded photo album for all the group to see.

Guess what? Turns out I'm the class nerd and no one else has gotten around to doing it yet. So because I am the only one who has posted a photo album, my teacher has used my photos to start to a group discussion on the good and bad of each one! oh my! First thing this morning, I read an email with a critique of each of my photos... wow. A part of me felt like crap (please excuse the language, it's the only word to describe it!).. but a bigger part of me was very excited that I can use this feedback to really improve and that it what this whole course is about. I'm not out for all gushing feedback, I know full well that I have so much to learn and so much to improve... so I'm glad that not only do I have constructive criticism but I have advice on how to improve.

Day 128

Almost forgot to update the blog tonight! That NEVER happens! You would think I'd have stacks of pictures seen as the photography course started today.. but I didn't take one photo. I was too busy caught up reading the class materials and making sure I knew what I had to do and completely forgot to pick up the camera. Got lots of practising ahead of me and 2 assignments already scheduled for this week (sounds harder than it is, it's really just playing with the camera :), so somehow I don't think there will be a lack of photos for long.

Tonight I went to my friends house to help her with setting up the nursery for her new arrival very soon. Very productive night, my OCD did me proud and I pottered around the room packing little clothes away in size order, tidying up and making sure everything was in place. It looked great by the end. I did take one pic on my iPhone of the sticker we put on the wall...isn't it lovely?

Off to Mandurah for a few days tomorrow...another one of those great last minute plans. I'm sure I'll get some beach shots in while I'm there.

Productive, happy Monday! x

Day 127

My photography course hasn't even started yet and I'm already very impressed with my teacher! My teacher Noelle, got in touch with me (and of course the other students) to get some background information about our hopes for the class, where we are at with our photography journey, type of camera and equipment, and what our favourite subjects to photograph are etc. The company I'm going through is actually allllllllll the way in Florida, so all correspondence is of course over email and on the website forum.

I wrote up some background information and sent it back, including the link to my Flickr site so that Noelle could get a feel for what she is working with (trust me, I was nervous showing a true professional my amateur work). Since then we've already exchanged a few emails, where she has given me constructive criticism as well as positive feedback, and said she will work with me closely to make sure I learn everything I need to, to take the kinds of photos I hope for.  I have a very good feeling this is going to be a great experience!

----------------------------

I went to a friend's Baby Shower this afternoon, it was so refreshing having some time out to chat and relax with the girls! I felt nice and rejuvenated after a great arvo. I only have iPhone pics, so not great but better than no pics at all!

The glowing mother - 7 weeks to go until she meets baby number 3!

Me & Lauren

On the drive home... beautiful sun setting...

Such a nice day... I didn't even realise I needed a break until I got one!

Hope you all had a great weekend... here's to a fantastic week ahead!
