Day 103

It rained today! And look what I was finally able to drag out from the back of the wardrobe...

Jeans! It feels like a lifetime ago since the weather was cool enough to wear jeans...

Sam of course hasn't noticed the change in weather and still prefers to wear nothing at all while at home... 

I would love to take credit for making these colourful cupcakes, but all I did was the take the picture.. it was Woolworths that provided our morning tea today...there was a 6th cupcake.. it was white on top... but I ate it before it even had a chance to breathe out of the wrapping .. and it was gooooood!

I decided today I needed a new coffee mug.... for no other reason than I just happened to walk past some mugs at the shops and they were $1 each... so here it is, with a pear that Sam ate 2 seconds after I took the photo :)

Kindy is tiring... my beautiful love fell asleep on the couch after lunch. Adorable pouting lips...

I didn't manage to get a picture unfortunately.. but it cracks me up when Sam falls asleep on the couch because if Jacob is awake, he stands at the couch, touching and prodding Sam... trying to hold his hands, touch his face, grab his feet, pull at his t-shirt... I have to physically remove him from the room so that Sam can actually sleep in peace! It's gorgeous.. Jacob just wants to play with his brother :)

Almost the weekend... we've got a big one planned so hopefully some good photos to come!

Day 102

How is it that you take one day off from house cleaning.... and the place looks like a bomb went off?! Well that's what happened to our house yesterday. So today was spent getting things back in order and the washing up to date.

I set the boys up outside with toys etc to keep them occupied while I cleaned inside...

Hands up who is sick of me posting pictures of the sun and plants? 

The good news is that I'm feeling back to my normal healthy self today.. strange one day illness! Oh well, glad it was just one day and not longer. I guess it helps when you go to bed at 7pm and wake up at 5.30am... the sleep was wonderful and much needed!

Spent some time playing with HDR again.... I quite like the Black/White HDR's for something a bit different.

Day 101

I'm feeling a bit under the weather today, so this morning instead of providing a lovely nutritious breakfast for me and my boys, I went for the easy option and we had chocolate chip hot cross buns... Sam thought it was pretty fantastic! 

Happy Anniversary to my parents.. married for 36 years today! They are true soul mates :)

Well that's all from me today, time to rest up in the hopes that I am back to normal healthy self tomorrow!

Day 100

100 days down! Wow... 265 days to go. Well I certainly made up for only taking 8 photos over the weekend... today I took a total of 218 snaps!

Jacob is completely adorable in his little one-piece PJ's....

While Jacob was napping this morning, Sam and I spent some time outside... he was eating watermelon while I read some of my book and sipped on my cup of tea. 

Seriously, this book is fantastic! You must must must read it!

Another trip to the park... 

Sam met a little friend, and they set up stall to play shopkeeper. It was adorable!

My friend Belinda popped down to the park as well, and we enjoyed a relaxing morning chatting with a gorgeous breeze keeping us cool. 

Late afternoon... some more time spent outside... with oranges. 

I love this photo. It melts my heart seeing my boys like this.... they are the best of friends :) 

My goal of updating the blog daily for 1 year (which started out as one photo per day if you recall... I certainly have altered the guidelines haven't I?!)... is certainly a challenge. Some days it's really easy, especially when I've had a busy day and taken lots of photos... it becomes much more difficult when I go through a dry spell of photos with a lack of inspiration! But that's what makes this 'challenge' all the more worthwhile :)

Day 98 & 99

I have taken a total of 8 pictures this weekend... this is so unusual for me! And only 4 of those pictures are 'blog' worthy. It's been a busy weekend and picking up my camera unfortunately took a back seat.

Saturday night ... a last minute plan with me, my sister Pam and my sisters friend Jaci. The three of us headed to the Paddo for a little girls night out.

Oh I wish I had my camera with me. I would have enjoyed capturing our adventure (I don't think the girls agree with me though!).

I was the responsible driver for the evening and armed with my GPS.... we set out. After a few mishaps driving my sisters car (all within the first 1 minute ... I was getting used to driving a different car... that's my story and I'm sticking to it!), I lost count of the amount of times the GPS had to 'recalculate' the route due to  me talking too much and missing the turn offs. But we finally made it and after a snack to eat, we got into the swing of relaxing, chatting and a bit of dancing.

I ran into my cousin Brett, which was a great surprise.. and while we were having a good catch up... a guy walked past, stumbled and spilt his beer all over my hair and clothes. Nice!

We met some interesting people, sung our little hearts out 'ohhhh oh, we're half way there... oooooooohhhhhhhh oh livin' on a praaaaayer" and overall had a great night out. :)

I still managed to drag myself out of bed this morning and take Sam to Sunday School....

Day 97

Today was probably the laziest, most relaxing day I've had in a VERY long time! It seemed to move in slow motion but go quickly at the same time...I didn't accomplish anything.. oh except for keeping the house clean (which actually IS a pretty big accomplishment when I think about it with 2 kids!), and making our home made pizzas ready for cooking in the evening... apart from that.. nothing! Hanging around with my boys, taking a few photos, watching cartoons...that about sums it up. Pretty good Friday if you ask me!

I'm pretty sure I caused irreversible eye damage taking this picture!

Oh I did do something else today.. I made Jelly with pears for Sam. I wish I had done it in secret, Sam hung around the fridge and asked me every 2 seconds if the jelly was ready yet. It was only cute for the first 2 minutes (for the record, jelly takes around 4 hours to set!).

  

                                               

                   He did ask if his friend Shanika was coming over to share the jelly.. he associates jelly with his buddy Shanika, so sweet :) 

Sam is great at making his own fun. He got out my saucepans and colanders to make a drum set.. complete with carrots for drumsticks. 

                                                                                                                                                                                   Of course Jacob wanted to get involved. I had a big giggle at hearing Sam say: "Nooo Jakey, babies can't play drums!......ohhh okay, I'll teach you how to play, here, hold the carrot sticks like this..." :)
