Day 120

Happy Easter! It certainly has been a happy day for us. :)

Our gorgeous 9 month old Jacob... took his very first step! And the best part... Lewy and I were both there to witness it. I'm sure the neighbours were wondering what on earth was happening...as I squealed with delight when he took that very special first step! To make it even better.. he walked towards his Daddy :) Lewy and I were over the moon and making a whole load of happy noise, and Jacob got more confidence up and took another step ... all the while Sam was preoccupied with wanting to climb onto Daddy's back and play horsey :)

This morning Sam woke up to a trail of small chocolate eggs (or rooster eggs as he kept calling them!), leading to the garden.  We had a great time following the trails and finding the goodies I'd hidden throughout. Sam had a ball, and so did Jakey as he followed behind picking up the egg trail. But I didn't get one photo! I was too busy in the moment, enjoying the adventure with my boys :)

I always enjoy when it rains, as it gives me a chance to take some different kinds of photos.

I'm right into my new book... the sequel to Pillar of The Earth. This one is called 'World Without End'.

Sam and I filled in some time while it was raining, by putting stickers on each other..

Sam requested this many stickers... and I had to oblige!

Our plans on heading out to a park were almost put on hold when the rain came... but we decided to risk it when the weather seemed to clear up a bit. Before we arrived at the park, we took a drive through the tunnel and around Northbridge.

We spent some time at the Maylands foreshore.. it was gorgeous.

I'm especially fond of this photo...

Sam loved taking his bike for a proper ride along the path...

and Jacob loved hitching a ride with Dad...

Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Day 119 - Feet

Not many photos today, it's been a busy little day...but a good one :)

Now to explain.... after Sam saw my painted nails this morning, he decided he wanted some painted nails too:) Which I have no problem with and was happy to pretty up his feet :) Lewy on the other hand... wasn't so thrilled, especially as he was the one who was put in charge of buying him some new sneakers and had to endure the embarrassment of people looking strangely at his son's red toenails! hehe (I found it quite funny though ssshhh!)

And check it out... my $3 shoes I bought awhile ago are still kicking! Love them!
I know, I know.. it looks a bit funny with a boys sandled feet with red toe nails!
Sam was very excited about heading to the shops... even if this photo suggests otherwise!

It was more of a "Mum, stop taking photos.... I have to go to the shops!"

We both got new shoes! Sam's new sneakers, my new slip-ons. Photo isn't great, but by this stage Sam just wanted to ride his bike...

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter Sunday.... I'm all prepared for an Easter egg hunt and full cooked breakfast and hot cross buns, so hopefully some good photos tomorrow :)

Day 118

It's become a morning ritual. Once the kids are sorted  ... we head outside to check out the sky, to see if there are any cool clouds or colours or even just to have a look at the bright morning sunshine.

Sam now also looks up at the sky throughout the day and comments on how beautiful it is!

Today, Good Friday, I spent some time with Sam talking about Jesus and what the meaning behind Easter is (the toddler version of course!)...

and out of the blue.. he got my hands and put them together to pray. Then he told me to close my eyes and he said "Thank you Jesus for Mummy, Daddy and baby Jacob, thank you... bye Santa Clause". Gorgeous little prayer..with only one little misunderstanding that we had to sort out!

It's been a lovely family day.... and when the boys went to bed, I gave myself a little pedicure.

Day 117

What a day! Just call me Mrs Productive :) You name it... I did it...I cleaned it, tidied it, swept it, washed it, scrubbed it. What started out as one task on the To Do List - 'Tidy the patio'.. turned into a crazy cleaning frenzy that went from cleaning the garage, the car, the back patio and also ventured into the walk in robe... and resulted in 8 WHOLE BAGS of stuff being removed - some being thrown out, some to the Salvos.  Phew! I even found time to make up some pizzas for dinner tonight.

Easter, we are organised and ready!

At 6.30am this morning while I was sweeping the patio, I was beyond excited to look up to the sky and see the moon peaking through the clouds. (Yes, I'm very easily pleased :)

Would you believe, my boys, especially Sam, love it when we go on big cleaning adventures. He loves getting right in and helping me, and the boys got a real kick out of the mountains of clothes and shoes that were piled in the bedroom... they crawled all over them, going through everything (Sam at one point tried on a lovely pink dress).

I forgot to say in yesterday's post that Jacob's first tooth came through ... he wasn't showing any signs of teething so it was a bit of a shock to see the white in his gums! Yay for Jacob!

I came into the lounge to see a nursery rhyme book and dolly laying on the rug.... it made me smile :)

If only I paid as much attention to the garden as I do to the inside of the house!

 Hello there little guy!

(If I write this note in small font.. maybe no one will notice I've put yet another sun photo up... sssshhhhhhhh)

Sam set up the picnic blanket and plates for lunch today... while Jacob supervised.

I'm sure you are thinking what on earth is this photo of...I posted it because for some reason I really like it.. it's the bricks outside with the sun reflecting off the water, after I hosed the patio down....

The boys and I are so happy to have Lewy home now for the Easter break. We have a whole heap of relaxing and playing to do and generally just enjoying being together.

Very very happy and productive Thursday!

Day 116

I took this at 6am this morning.. it was cold outside which is why it isn't a great pic... I was going to set up the tripod, but I was shivering so decided this will have to do! Beautiful sky though huh! :)

---------------------------

Well... I did it. I enrolled into the online photography course. It starts in a few weeks. I'm excited and nervous!

I all of a sudden realised as soon as I hit the Submit button on my enrolment form... that I have no problem showing you guys my photos, because you all like me (or at least I hope you do! ha!) so even if you hated my photography.. you'd probably never tell me. BUT the people who I will be showing my photos too during this course... well they don't know me, and will have no problem critiquing my photos and being totally honest with what they think! Oh dear!!! .... breathe... breathe.....
I was thinking that whatever photos I take to submit throughout the course, I'll post up here on the blog... if I get really bad feedback from the teacher .. then I'll get you guys to pretend the photo is great and leave nice comments on my blog to boost my esteem back up again... deal?! :)

On a serious note - I can't wait to start the course.. to finally learn how to really use my camera and not just blindly hope for the best! It runs for 6 weeks, so just to warn you.... I'll probably talk a lot about it over that time!

---------------------------

*sigh* It was bound to happen.... but I'm still sad about it.

Sam..... broke my new favourite mug :(  Remember him? My New Mug Sam was 'helping' me he said.. by cleaning out the 'spiders' from all the mugs. Why out of alllll the mugs in the cupboard did he break my favourite one?! Yes...it was only $1..... I think that's why I loved him so much, that.. and he was very pretty. I also don't know why the mug is a 'he' but it just seems to fit :) Goodbye pretty mug, I enjoyed you while you lasted.

---------------------------

I often find funny little things around the house and garden left by the kids.... cars in strange places, toys set up to form some kind of creation etc .... so for today's post, for something different .. I took photos of some of the things I found around the place.

A car in a gumboot....

Parachute man.... lost in the wilderness, without his parachute.... poor little guy..

Ted and Iggle Piggle needed a freshen up.... thought it was cute seeing them hanging on the line :)

Oh I love this... I came out to find this 'office' that Sam had set up... cute!

Things got a bit tricky, when Jacob wanted to play with the office equipment...

Problem solved with a simple location change... yep - when you are 3 you are allowed to go to work nude wearing only gumboots :)

One more day left, then we have Lewy home with us for 5 whole days over the Easter break.... we can't wait :)

Happy, fun Wednesday!
