Easter

After a blissful sleep in, I spent the morning reading while Lewy and the boys gave me some peace and quiet. Finished the book, and loved it! Have downloaded the second part and right into it already. Tonight, I am rewarding myself by watching The Hunger Games movie. Woohoo!

Today has produced many smiles from my boys. Jacob and I headed to the shops while Lewy and Sam went to Bunnings. Jacob squealed (very loudly I might add!) when he saw the Easter Bunny and kept pointing to his own ears and then to the bunny's ... to let him know they had the same ears :) Jacob was so excited.

He has spent the rest of the day asking where the Bunny is and looking so heartbroken to find that he is not at our house... ohhh bless.

We spent the afternoon painting and colouring eggs. It was a blast.

Half way through, Jacob decided it was way more fun to paint himself instead.

And Sam wanted blue hands..

The next logical step after an afternoon of getting messy....

Today was lovely.

After another check out the front for the Easter Bunny (oh Jacob), the boys went next door to visit our neighbours who were having a party (yep - the karaoke machine is in full swing!). They had a little dance, got some easter eggs then Sam said "can we go back to Mummy's house now" :P

When the boys went to daycare on Friday... we walked in.... and found the whole place decorated for Easter, complete with painted paw marks on the ground. I wish I could have taken of a photo of the expression on Sam and Jacob's face... pure amazement and joy. It was a sight to see! There was a buzz throughout the daycare and seeing all the kids and my boys caught up in the magic and wonder of the celebration was so heart warming to watch.

And finally, to end on a note that celebrates the true meaning of Easter. At Sam's Sparks kids club, they were taught the story of Easter and of Jesus dying on the cross and rising 3 days later. (Kid friendly version of course!). In the car on the way home:

Me: "So what did you learn about Jesus Sam?"
Sam: "He's going to die"

Love that out of the whole story, that's what Sam picked up! Oh but he did mention that he got Easter eggs afterwards, so in his mind all is right with the world :P
