Day 201

After our busy week so far, I decided a day at home was in order. About a week ago we got notification that Western Power were doing some work in the area and our power would be turned off for a number of hours.... I remembered that this morning - right after the power went out! It worked out quite well as instead of being stuck indoors with cartoons on the tv, we spent most of the day outside. Loving the gorgeous sunshine at the moment... it's so uplifting.

We spent about 20 minutes naming Sams toys.... So far we have a Gilbert, Lucius, Marvin, Caspian, Declan, Bohdi, Isaac, James, Charlie, Peter and Horsey (for a giraffe no less)...

For lunch today, I was craving something light, healthy but tasty. So I went through our leftovers and came up with this...

I fried some mushrooms and cherry tomatoes with some garlic, dried oregano and basil pesto, laid it on a bed of baby spinach leaves, fried an egg and topped it with some feta ... it hit the spot:)

The boys spent ages playing with a cardboard box ... and I mean AGES!!! Kids and their imaginations.... amazing! They especially liked using the box as a tent and having little 'chats' in there.... I sat and watched and smiled :)

P.S Sorry for the bad quality pics... my camera batteries were flat, so I had to resort to the phone :)

So.... The Black Swan. I watched it and it was okay. I liked it well enough, just didn't love it like I thought I would. Lewy fell asleep within 2 minutes of it starting .. I wasn't hugely surprised at this - he did say to me before I put it on that he "would rather watch Bring It On 4, than have to watch a movie about ballet"... So that gave me a pretty good indication that his interest level was below zero!!!

Happy sunny day! xx

Your turn to be without power - at least yours was daylight hours!! It sounds like you and the boys made the most of it :-) They look so gorgeous playing together, and the simple pleasures of a cardboard box! Love it!
