Saturday night included....a fantastic evening out!! Last night was dedicated to celebrating Lewy's birthday next week. I arranged for Sonny &Val to meet us at the Duckstein Brewery for dinner as a surprise.

I loved Lewy's reaction when he saw our friends waiting for him. He was very surprised and very happy!

The Duckstein is a German food restaurant, so it was quite the different experience! We enjoyed some german bread for a starter, then the boys got stuck into a Veal Schnitzel and a Bratwurst Sausage with Curry sauce while us girls both enjoyed the Roasted Vegetable and Goats Cheese Filo.

The jokes were rolling, everyone in top form (kinda!), we even tried to get Val up for a dancing demonstration but we didn't manage to convince her. We talked about "Boyz II Men" band, the secret life of plumbers, ballroom dancing, boats, America, the romantic meeting of Sonny & Val....which may or may not have included dancing on a bar (!), Weiner Sausages, Germany.... the list goes on! Top night....

I totally forgot to take a picture of the food, but we did all manage to clear off our plates pretty quickly.

Happy Birthday Lewy!

We all tucked into the Baileys Cheesecake... delicious!

Unfortunately, it seems that the Swan Valley isn't up for partying much past 9pm... thanks to some other tables who cancelled their booking, embarrassingly we were the ONLY people left in the restaurant. When the staff turned off the music, we took that as a hint they were ready for us to leave.

So we headed to Mash Brewery for a night cap.

Checking out the F1 results.

Best Hot Chocolate Ever.

Brilliant night, big thanks to Sonny & Val for helping Lewy and I celebrate his 30th!

My new vow: Where ever I go, my camera goes with me! The amount of times I end up somewhere with only my phone to capture the event....it just doesn't cut it!

Sunday's post to come... stay tuned for something a little different!
