It's a really good thing yesterday was so wonderful, because as life always goes, you've got to take the good with the bad. And this morning... things turned bad.
Speaking of yesterdays post, I re-read it this morning and it sure was gushy right?! I'm wondering how many of you read it and went "blah, sappy!". Well, don't worry, this post will have quite a different tune!
Our morning began at 4.30am. With Sam coughing so much he woke himself up, and my poor Jacob crying because he had thrown up all over his cot and all over himself, hair included, so much so that his hair was standing straight up.
So by 5am after calming Jacob down and having some cuddles, we both ended up in the shower because the stench of throw up was just too much to handle... while Lewy and Sam watched cartoons on the iPad in bed.
Jacob has turned back into my little koala bear, which I can't say I mind... he is the cutest koala bear I've ever seen. Sam thankfully hasn't coughed once since he got up and seems fine, so let's cross fingers it stays that way.
On a brighter note, let me tell you about Sam's adventures this morning. It provided me with quite a bit of entertainment in an otherwise shock start to the morning!
So Sam starts being really really naughty and I decided to take the 'nice, patient mum' approach and sat next to him on the couch to ask him why he was being naughty. Get this... the logic of a 3 year old.... he said "Because I want to go outside and ride my bike". Me: "Why didn't you just ask me if you could ride your bike?". Sam: "Okay, can I please ride my bike?" then "thanks, love you Mummy". Ha! Sometimes it would really help to be able to read their little minds!
He goes outside and then races back in a few minutes later to show me his new snail friend 'Caspin'. Sam made me cut some of my toast off so the snail could eat it, then took him for a ride on his bike. A little while later I hear Sam making kissing noises and saying "I love you snail". Then he says "Mummy, can we take snail to the shops to get a new shell?". Sam says he needs to make a bed for his little friend, so gets some toilet paper for the sheet and some leaves for the bed.
Then things start to get a little ..... concerning.
I find Sam setting up the bed and putting the snail in it, in the photocopier and shutting the lid. Oh dear. I explain to Sam that the snail much prefers to be outside and maybe he could make him the bed in the grass. Sam agrees, takes him out of the photocopier and brings him to me so I can say hello... ummmm.... I'm not sure whether to tell Sam that his little friend is no longer with us and has gone to a better place, or just let him carry on. I decide to let him carry on (is that bad?!) ... so basically Sam is still holding his little friend, telling me he is being really gentle and that he loves his snail. I mention quietly that snail looks a bit unhappy and might be better outside where he belongs.... instead of doing that Sam puts snail on my breakfast plate (thankfully I have already eaten my toast)... so as I'm writing this I have a dead snail right next to the laptop. Nice..... thanks Sam :)
Oh and he also asked if snail could go and sleep with Jacob. Ha! I had to put my foot down on that one :)
*******
My little koala bear is tucked back up in bed, fast asleep... it's 8.30am and I've already been up for 4 hours... it's going to be a long day!
So what better way to improve the morning, than with a giveaway.... woohoo!
